The Mirror Effect is when you recognize that anything happening outside of you, whether you deem it to be good or bad, is a reflection of something that is happening within you.

It’s the idea that you are creating your reality, every moment of every day. Whether or not you enjoy what you are creating is a matter of perspective. It’s recognizing that you are such a powerful creator, you have the power to create every single thing in your life.

If you don’t like what you see, you have an opportunity to correct the imbalance that created it in the first place and that needs to be done within.

While there is a degree of attentiveness necessary to be a responsible, caring human being navigating this world, the root cause of your issue will never be found in the outside world. Since it can’t be found out there, it can’t be fixed out there.

If we’re talking about actually healing the root cause of a problem you’re having, you always want to look within. Anything else is a distraction, an illusion that keeps you on the hamster wheel of life where you’re the great problem solver with a never ending list of tasks. Looking within involves self-reflection and this is where the mirror effect comes in.

What is the history of the Mirror Effect?

Throughout this blog, I refer to the creator as “it,” which simply means that the creator exists as the energy of unconditional love.

The creator is the composition that makes up everyone and everything, and yet, it felt that something was missing with the human experience and its perception of our experience…

The creator was sitting around one day, wondering what it would be like to experience every aspect of life in every single way. 

You see, experience by its very nature, is sensual. It is, “of the senses.” Since it is sensual, it needs to be experienced individually, in form and matter, and each person’s experience is going to be different.

The creator wanted to experience life through the senses, AS US, so it gave us actual senses to create and experience our reality, in real time. The senses are how we manifest.

While many refer to Intuition as the “sixth sense,” I believe that it was the very first sense given to us, followed by the other senses: touch, taste, scent, sight and hearing.

Together, these six senses create a prime possibility for us to work together with our higher self (intuition) and our physical senses, to manifest on a level that defies all odds.

The Mirror Effect and Disconnect

The number one connection disruptor in this world is frequency. It’s strange to say because frequency is how we all communicate without words. When your frequency is disrupted, or distorted which happens for many reasons we’ll discuss below, your frequency becomes disrupted and changed.

Many people living in this world now are completely disconnected from themselves because of outside interference that has been explicitly designed to disrupt the connection that we have with our creator and with ourselves. When we are disconnected from ourselves, we’re also connected from our own body, emotions and our senses. The signal between who we are, what we need and what we want out of life is interrupted, causing us to place meaning on things that are meaningless.

This distortion is powerfully calculated to ensure we are obedient and keeping the system running as it has been designed. What ends up happening is you end up working longer hours, working harder to attain the things you think you want, while feeling less fulfilled in the process.

What do you think ends up happening when you are sending a distorted signal out, telling the Universe what you want? Your signal is confused, your message is confused and now the Universe is confused. If you aren’t living a life you love, now you know why.

Have you ever witnessed someone walk into a room and completely dominate the room without ever saying a word? Their frequency is doing the talking.

Everything from wifi signals, to cell phone interference, to advertising, games and social media pulling at our focus and attention, it’s no wonder why so many people feel sad, depressed and unfulfilled.

These “solutions” do the opposite of what people need by interrupting the connection between the creator and the person, all while advertising a more “connected” world. The world has never been more disconnected.

In a connected world, there is unity, unconditional love, acceptance, kindness, compassion, and open communication. Even at times of disagreement, there is a mutual respect, and willingness to elevate the conversation to create circumstances that reflect the above attributes for everyone, to the extent possible.

Anything with a “frequency” interrupts your connection with the creator. While I recognize that it’s nearly impossible to avoid anything with a frequency in today’s world, there are ways to minimize your digital use and use that time to connect within and communicate with yourself and your creator as a way to reconnect to your own emotions, heart and authenticity.

Unfortunately, outside frequency disruptors still aren’t the root cause of a human being’s low frequency. The only thing that can really disrupt your frequency is when your self-worth is low. You value yourself, your time, your attention and most importantly, your energy, lower than you do external stimuli. You place a greater value on things outside of yourself, than you do on yourself.

Frequency is the signal that you, as an individual being navigating this planet, are emitting out to other beings here on Earth and beyond. That means your frequency is absolutely critical to you receiving what it is that you desire and actually aligning yourself with it. If your frequency doesn’t match that which you are trying to manifest, you simply won’t align with it. It’s like two ships passing in the night.

Your frequency needs to be at a level that it matches what it is you’re wanting to manifest. This is how the mirror effect works. What you see outside of you, is what’s happening within you.


So, what needs to happen in order for you to clean your frequency and maintain it at a master manifestor level?

 
 

You need to heal yourself. And I don’t mean be as present as possible, while ignoring that your triggers exist. I mean roll up your sleeves, face your fears, your inner demons, your wounded child, all the anger, pain and resentment you have stored within your body, mind and soul, including your karma. Stop making excuses for yourself and do the work it takes to resolve your pain. 

Tech is not your friend. Technology is the most destructive frequency interruptor that exists next to trauma (see #1). Technology quite literally emits a frequency. When you allow yourself to be connected all the time, you are giving your time, energy, focus and attention to something outside of yourself, that is emitting a frequency into your skin and cells, every time you touch it. Don’t get me started on anyone who sleeps with technology next to their bed, under their pillow or worse, in their back pocket when walking. If you want to maintain a high frequency, this needs to stop.

Disconnect from Negativity. This is bigger than new agey, “stay positive” talk. The words you use are giving things and people outside of you consent to engage with you. When you talk about someone behind their back, you give them consent to do the same to you. If you wouldn’t like it done to you, stay out of it.

Stop engaging in Energy Drains. We’ve all heard the term energy vampires and energy drains are no different. When you say yes, when you want to say no, you are engaging in an energy drain. You are allowing your energy to be harvested because you’re concerned about making someone else uncomfortable. It’s possible to say no with kindness. If you do this long enough, you’ll build resentment and anger that boil up within you and you’ll begin blaming others for “making you” do things. That isn’t possible, you either choose to engage or you don’t. Blame, anger and resentment are the biggest energy drains ever. Make the choices necessary to prioritize your well being and you’ll begin to maintain a healthy frequency. 

Find the root of Anxiety. Understanding the root cause of anxiety is critical to stabilizing your nervous system. For many people, it’s suppressing how they feel instead of acknowledging it. For others, it’s ignoring their intuition. When your nervous system is triggered, you will go into a flight, fight, freeze or fawn response depending on how you have historically coped with stressors. Understanding these patterns is critical to helping stabilize anxiety.

Ground yourself. You want to know the single best way to eliminate excess tech frequency in your body? A good old fashioned shower, a great workout sesh or an abundance of time in nature. These three things not only ground your energy, they clear your energy of anything that isn’t yours to carry, including shitty energy you may have picked up on at work today.

Reconnect. Sit in meditation, clear your energy and become a master at quieting your mind, asking questions, learning to listen to your higher self and take action that your heart is guiding you towards. This takes resiliency, courage and faith. A lot of it. It will trigger your nervous system if you’ve become accustomed to betraying yourself and your intuition. It takes time and commitment to honor yourself, but this is true authenticity.

Choose Love & Peace. Sometimes this means that you lay down your sword and exit the battlefield. Sometimes it means that you stop allowing yourself to be a doormat. Other times it means you lift your sword and engage in a battle that is worth fighting. How do you know which one to engage in and when? Simple. You ask yourself, “What is the most peaceful choice I can make at this moment?” Then consider each of them and choose that washes a sense of peace throughout your body. 

Choosing peace doesn’t mean your nervous system won’t be triggered. It means that you feel light, even if you think your choice may cause some waves. At some point, you need to decide whether the feeling of betraying yourself is better or worse than the feeling of doing what feels right to you, even if it makes others uncomfortable.

What is emotional mirroring?

Emotional mirroring is a psychological term, and there are many websites that can help you identify if that’s something you are dealing with.

I speak and teach on how we are learning from and co-creating with the Universe. In this context, emotional mirroring shows up like two sides of the same coin.

One form of emotional mirroring is when you are caught in a cycle of lower vibrational energy by discussing your situation or problem with someone that can’t energetically support assisting you in exploring a solution. You may want to share everything with your best friend, but can your best friend actually help you from neutral ground or do they take your side no matter what?

You may end up feeling worse because you are likely over-explaining yourself, struggling with trying to get the other person to understand. This turns into complaining, which lowers your vibration and makes it more difficult to connect with a solution.

Another side of emotional mirroring is when you consciously choose to share with someone who you know will respond on a middle ground, helping you to explore a solution while talking it through. Many people hire coaches, therapists and healers for something like this. Good friends can be a neutral third party as well, especially when they are good, active listeners. This is where boundaries come in and you choose not to share certain aspects of your life with people you know may not be able to show up in a supportive way. You’re allowed to say no, and you’re also allowed to keep areas of your life private, if that’s what you need.

This all harkens back to the need to choose your own worth. It’s powerful to say to yourself that you are worthy of stability, safety and security. These are not illusions that only exist outside of you. They are feelings that must be cultivated within, especially if you find yourself longing for them, or feeling triggered when you feel you don’t have them. It all begins with the choice.

How do I know if someone is mirroring me?

If you vulnerably share something with someone, and you feel heard, validated and seen in their response to you, even if their response is simply being present without talking, you’re experiencing positive mirroring.

Positive mirroring is when you feel safe in someone else’s presence, safe enough to share something that might be scary for you to share. You don’t worry about rejection, shame, anger, or other emotions being directed towards you in response to what you’re sharing.

From a Mirror Effect perspective, mirroring is oftentimes someone responding to a situation or feeling that you’re struggling with in your INNER world. In fact, it may be that someone is triggering you while this is going on.

Your inner world, in the form of your emotions, fears and trauma are creating a situation for you to deal with on the outside. You can use these people and situations as mirrors to look within and see where your own energy made it possible to experience this.

I recognize that this may be a trigger for some people, and that maybe your healer or therapist has offered you exercises to cope your way past these situations. This is helpful, but I often work with people who are stuck in the same situation and cycle for years on end, with no relief in sight.

At some point, we have to ask ourselves the question that matters most, which is, “How am I contributing to the dysfunction?” Choices need to be made based on what the mirror effect is showing you, in order to end the cycles once and for all.

Healing with the Mirror Effect

Step one is to discover what the world and environment you’re living in is showing you.

  1. Do you like what you see? If not, why? What is out of alignment?

  2. How are you contributing to what you are seeing in your outer environment? What changes can you make to resolve what you’re unhappy with?

Step two is to discover what your inner world, or what I call your storyline, is telling you about what you believe is possible or impossible. Certainly there are situations where we don’t have much control to change things, but there are plenty of opportunities to recreate our life in areas where we have full control, that is, if you believe it’s possible.

  1. How are you feeling about what you are experiencing in your life?

  2. Is there anywhere where you’ve suppressed your emotions because it wasn’t safe for you to let them be?

  3. Where is fear stored in your body and why is it there? This one might be safer to explore with another person to support you.

Step three is taking what you’ve learned from what you’ve experienced, the good, the bad and the ugly and turning it into a treasure that guides you deeper into following your heart. This is knowledge turned to wisdom when it is applied.

  1. What did you learn from all of this? 

  2. What would you repeat? What wouldn’t you repeat and why?

  3. Did you make any fear-based choices at the time that you’d like a redo on right now? 

Step four is really about accountability and communicating it, celebrating it and honoring your journey. So many people skip this step because they feel ashamed of their journey or what has happened to them. It’s so important to celebrate how far you’ve come in small steps and mini milestones along the way. It’s up to you if you want to share with others, but at the very least, take time to share with yourself and celebrate in a way that suits you.

Receiving with the Mirror Effect

To be in a state of receiving is to be in a state of surrender.

When your energy and frequency is tied up in other areas like video games, reels, social media, and endless array of distractions, you cut off your own flow state.

The Universe is literally always communicating with you. If you feel cut off, it’s because you are cut off. Restoring your connection with the Universe is easier than one might think. Suggestions for restoring your frequency are in this blog. If you follow them, you’ll feel better faster than you might think!

Receiving is also a by-product of healing. The more you clear away the clutter keeping you from connecting with your own intuition, the easier it is to hear and understand the Universe’s messages.

The Universe and your creator communicate in symbols more often than not. You’re constantly receiving messages and signs, but you may not be seeing or understanding them. To bridge this gap, you’ll want to disconnect from external stimuli and reconnect with nature and yourself. Again, follow the tips in this blog and it will help you reconnect.

You get the picture.

Keep your nervous system calm and life gets a whole lot easier without the blame game.

On the other side of the mirror is the Universe, ready, willing and able to deliver everything you’ve asked for. When you work with the mirror, what you’re doing is using both sides of it to your advantage. You’re taking a look inside yourself, and outside at your environment. Plus, you’re diving through a portal of possibilities on the other side of the mirror, where everything you can imagine is waiting for you to call it into existence.
